Activities

Our unit has been established to carry out the following activities

Training

A number of training courses are conducted by our unit in collaboration with different departments and institutes. Training is being conducted by our eminent professors at the Endemic Medicine Department.

Research

Our unit funds about five projects per year according to our financial capacity. We aim to fund more projects in the near future.

Social service

For more than 60 years our unit has conducted many field visits to many Egyptian villages for researching, screening, surveying, health education and treatment of populations suffering from bilharziasis, viral hepatitis B and C and other endemic health problems in Egypt.

Collaboration

We have collaboration with several departments in our faculty and other governmental institutes of which:

• Endemic medicine department (Hepatology unit).

• Endemic medicine department (GIT unit).

• Thabet Thabet hospital.

• Pulmonology and Tuberculosis department.

• Clinical pathology department.

• Egyptian ministry of health and population.

• Egyptian higher committee of medical specialities.

This collaboration has allowed us to conduct multiple training courses as well as a variety of researches and field visits.
